President’s Message

In remembrance of my wife!

The Dr. Angela Bonner McNulty Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of my wife, the late Dr. Angela Bonner McNulty’s dedication and giving spirit towards educational literacy and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  It was 37 years ago; I met the love of my life while I was an upperclassman attending Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. I was the assistant housing director of the student dormitory Hudson Hall and Angela was assigned as a dormitory office clerk in the same dorm, it was love at first sight. Angela was an 18-year-old freshman with long black hair and very beautiful indeed.

Our magnetic attraction for each other would evolve into a relationship and after 3 years of dating, she agreed to become my wife. We began our life together living in Monroe, Louisiana and soon thereafter in Mesquite, Texas where we raised two wonderful children. A son for me, who has followed in my footsteps in law enforcement and a daughter for her, who has followed in her mother’s footsteps earning a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.  Angela earned her Doctor of Education Degree while continuing her educational pursuits in Texas.

Ann, the name I began to know her as over the years, was a God-fearing woman. She was very active in her church, singing in the senior choir and actively participating in Sunday school. She was perfect in every way.  We were blessed to have shared a perfect life together. I do not long for anything, except her infectious smile, joyous laughter, and her warm embrace. My love, my wife, my friend, we love you always and you will never be forgotten.
